For his upcoming world tour with Sam Smith, new Yamaha artist Devin Trout knew he was going to need a guitar that stood out both tonally and visually for the thousand of fans at each venue.
We started with a Pacifica 510V as the base and went crazy from there. After stripping all the finish off the neck and body we refinished with thin nitrocellulose lacquer so we could jump start the distressing process. The medium jumbo frets were also pulled to make way for true jumbos for maximum note sustain and feel. The classic pickup combination we went with was the Seymour Duncan ’59 model in the neck and a JB in the bridge. This combo can truly handle all styles of playing.
